  • $75 if purchased after Jan. 2, 2011.

Ready to become certified? Candidates must register at least five days prior to an exam to reserve a space. Picture identification is required upon arrival at the testing site. Visit CertifiedPhotographer.com to register and for complete information.

Don’t forget, you can cram for the exam with the pre-convention Certification Preparation Class (January 13-15)!

Grand Imaging Awards

International Photographic Exhibit

Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center, Bridge Hall, Street Level

Come see the best of the best here! These over 2,100 professional images come from around the world—largely from Professional Photographers of America’s prestigious International Photographic Competition. You’ll see images from the 2010 PPA Loan and General Collections, including images from PPA’s Imaging Excellence Award recipients and Photographer of the Year winners. It’s the largest annual photographic exhibition in the world—there’s inspiration to be had by all.

Exhibit is open to the public and free of charge.

PPA Award & Degree Ceremony

It’s a night to honor professional photography and the individuals who set themselves apart in the industry. Held every year, this ceremony celebrates PPA members who’ve earned degrees and awards through their service, competition excellence and instruction. You’ll also hear special addresses from the PPA President and the Lifetime Achievement Award winner.

PPA Charities Celebration

Get the party started with the PPA Charities Celebration event, co-hosted by the Texas Professional Photographers Association! Held the Saturday evening before Imaging USA officially begins, this is a chance to meet up with old friends and make new ones while enjoying the fun, food and dancing with a DJ!

Of course, the focus of the evening will be PPA Charities and the good deeds that have been (and can be) done—the check presentation to Operation Smile is the highlight of the celebration and you’ll get another chance at some auction items, back by popular demand.  

PPA District/Affiliate Print Chairs Meeting

For all PPA District and Affiliate Print Chairman, this meeting is to learn about current competition rules, entry forms, procedures, the Photographic Exhibition Committee (PEC) resources and the future of PPA competitions.

PPA Judges Refresher Course

Learn about current competition rules, new digital trends and techniques related to competition entries (required for PPA Jurors & Jury Chairs; open to all Imaging USA attendees). Space is limited; priority seating given to PEC-approved jurors.

PPA Photographic Competition Mentor Program

Reserve Your Appointment Now

Take advantage of free consultations with PPA Juror/Mentors. These personal evaluations by some of the world’s best photographers and most accomplished jurors can help you significantly improve your craft. Ask questions, receive information and tips on creating exhibition-quality images, and get the inside track on how to earn merits towards prestigious PPA Master’s degrees.

Student Portfolio Review

Accredited PEC judges and Certified Professional Photographers will review your printed book, individual prints, or laptop portfolio. (We don’t have extra computers. If you bring a laptop, please bring a power cord.) Reviews are open to Student Photographic Society (SPS) members and Imaging USA student volunteers.
