Innovative Software Suite Complements Existing Product Line

Starting a profitable business, or expanding your existing business just got easier thanks to imageTech Marketing and Event Photo Market. Newly introduced software offers business owners a chance to enter the event photo marketplace with attractive options for customers.

Launching at the show is a new product line from GoodEye Technologies with three different software options – Print It Now, Share It Now and Enterprise. Featuring the mass media concepts of television and the Internet applied to digital photography, these software packages afford business owners new options to offer clients a powerful marketing opportunity with branded photos at any event. As the name indicates, Print It Now offers printed photos on site, Share It Now adds email sharing capabilities, and Enterprise opens doors to immediate uploads to social media, greenscreen and more.

In booth #817, the GoodEye software will be demonstrated to Imaging USA attendees by software developer Bruce Seymour, thereby providing first hand experience to the various software capabilities. Business owners can take advantage of an incredible Launch Offer, with $100 off the base price Print It Now Version, and the option to get the Share It Now version for the low base price, saving almost $1000! Commitments made at the show benefit from the initial copies of the software to gain an edge over their competition.

It doesn't stop there, though. Other software featured includes: Breeze Systems, Darkroom, DNP NX+, Novelty Photo Studio, Print Ripper, Sinfonia Instant Print, Snapshot Studio Photo Booth, SplashCase and Triprism TEPS-X.

Greg Gorman to Receive Lifetime Achievement Award at Imaging USA

Greg GormanPPA will confer its prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award to Greg Gorman, a prolific maker of famed celebrity images and fine art. The award will be presented during the Award & Degree Ceremony on January 22 at Imaging USA.

"I guess people are recognizing my mortality before I do. Maybe they know something I don't," says the California-based Gorman in the January Professional Photographer magazine interview about receiving the award.

"PPA presents this award to professional photographers who have made significant lifelong contributions to enriching the profession, and Greg fulfills that definition beautifully," says PPA President Tim Walden. "Greg's photography shows that he has the highest standards, giving us images we can all look to for inspiration and education."

From celebrity portraits and advertising campaigns to magazine layouts and fine art, Gorman has developed a discriminating and unique style over his four decades in photography. And though most often known for those celebrity portraits, his photography is timeless and not confined to has-beens, hot properties and wannabes. Each shot gives a picture of human nature in its infinite range, yet is a testament to the individual character.

Perhaps that explains why so many look to this artist as an inspiration. Teaching has become more and more important to him, and he's created weeklong workshops held at his Mendocino, Calif. home. He also travels for workshops around the world, including one at Imaging USA that is an inspirational look at his 40-plus year career. As an instructor, he's known for helping students better understand light, connect with subjects and refill themselves with passion and love of life.

"Greg's work pushes us to do better just by looking at it," adds Walden. "I also remember sitting in one of his lectures years ago. It was not only impressive but informative and entertaining, and that doesn't always happen at the same time! Greg's the full package."

When not shooting famous faces or teaching, Gorman travels the world for specialized photographic projects and continues to work on compilations of his imagery. A book of his photos for the award-winning l.a. Eyeworks campaign, entitled "Framed," was released in 2012, joining several other published works. And one cannot forget his contributions to charitable works by The Elton John Aids Foundation, Aids Healthcare Foundation, Focus on Aids, The Oscar De La Hoya Foundation, Vox/Out Voices of Style + Design, PETA, Angel Art, Pacific Design Center Stars of Design, and PawsLA.

Along with teaching and receiving the Lifetime Achievement Award, Gorman will have a display showcased in the International Photographic Exhibit at Imaging USA.

Sunday (Jan. 20) Parking Updates

With the Falcons vs. 49ers game here on Sunday, it's not just photographers who are thrilled to be in Atlanta! But this does mean that the city is changing some of the parking options. Staying in a hotel or taking MARTA or another public transportation option? You're golden! If you are driving in for that day, though, here are some parking alternatives:

At the Georgia World Congress Center (GWCC)

  • Prepay for GWCC parking now to save! You can reserve a Sunday spot in the Green Lot for only $10. Once those spots are sold out, a limited number of spots in the Red Deck will be available for pre-purchase at $10.

  • The Green Lot on Marietta St. will be open for general parking (first come, first served) on Sunday at $25 per entry because of the game. Rates will go back down to $10 after Sunday! (Remember: prepay and you could get a spot here for only $10).

  • The Yellow Lot at the corner of Ivan Allen Jr. Blvd. and Northside Drive will have parking available at $20 per entry.

  • The Red Deck will be closed to general parking on Sunday (unless you snag one of the limited spots by prepaying), as it's open for Falcons VIP pass holders only. (The other days will be just fine!)

  • The city confirmed that parking at GWCC will revert to the usual daily rate of $10 after the Falcons game ends on Sunday!

Outside of the GWCC

Whatever method you use to get to Imaging USA on Sunday, you're in for a fantabulous time once you get here. From 8:00am – 11:00pm, we'll keep you inspired and on your toes with the classes, Imaging EXPO, International Photographic Exhibit, #Hash It Out sessions and, of course, the Welcome Party (sponsored by Canon)! Then we'll do it all over in a new way the next day!

Remember, the GWCC Red Deck will be available for $10 parking every day but Sunday.

United Funding Offers Pre-Approval Program for Imaging USA

Are you planning to take advantage of some of the incredible discounts on equipment at Imaging USA?  Some of the best deals are for items the exhibiting companies have brought to the show…but would prefer not to pack up and ship back. Others are just really great "show specials." And if you want to buy at Imaging USA, you might want to get pre-approved financing before you get there!

If you're pre-approved, all you have to do is bring a copy of the dealer quote to United Funding (Booth #1113 at the Imaging EXPO).  They can complete the paperwork on the floor and will walk the purchase order right over to your vendor's booth.

Remember: PPA members also get an additional 2% rebate on all transactions funded through United Funding (up to $1,000).

Unlike putting the expense of new equipment on a credit card, bank loan or home equity loan, this debt rarely appears on your credit report and will not adversely affect your credit scores or ratios.

PPA members can apply today for pre-approval or call Bob Bell at 800-685-7571 for more information.

Get Your Year Off to a Record-Setting Start

Here at Imaging USA, we're setting records. It's no promo push...in 143 years, none of our Imaging USA events has had such a huge advance registration. Wondering what these attendees know that you don't?

Get your year off to a fantabulous start!

Perhaps they saw classes on the schedule that would help them grow their skills in certain areas. Maybe they've been thinking about new products and are heading the Imaging EXPO with their wish list. Maybe they've been here before and know they just can't miss it. And perhaps they just need an inspirational pick-me-up.

There are thousands of reasons (just like there are thousands of pre-registered photographers). But forget about them for a second—what needs to happen to make 2013 a record-setting year for YOU?

Do you want to...

  • Increase sales? Well, what do you know, we've got a "How to Get Bigger Sales" class, several classes about maximizing your wedding and portrait profits, integrating volume photography  into boutique studios (another sales avenue) and so much more.
  • Refine your posing & lighting skills? Try our live learning demos and other classes from wedding to family/children portraits, sports and commercial photography.
  • Improve your post-production skill & efficiency? We've got Adobe experts sharing what they do best, along with other pros sharing their proven "wicked fast" workflow solutions!
  • Inspire your art in new directions? Browse the International Photographic Exhibit or take a class and learn about creative "play dates," hybrid eProducts, and artistically satisfying (and profitable) sports composites.
  • Build your photo business? Learn how others (in a variety of specialties) have done so with great success.
  • Get help on specific questions? Share your thoughts during our #Hash It Out collaboration classes.
  • Find exciting products & new solutions? Head to the Imaging EXPO floor.
  • Build new, stronger relationships with those who love photography as much as you do—who understand the ups & downs of your industry? Uh yeah, there's no place better!

From seminars and live-demo workshops to trade-show hours and party meetups, Imaging USA is ready to help you set some records of your own this year. Ready to learn skills to not just stay in business, but make your profits soar? Then you're more than ready for Imaging USA.

Be a part of this record-setting event—coming up in just 2.5 weeks!
(Psst...that still gives you plenty of time to register and book a hotel room!)

KuteBox Revolutionizes Storage Solutions for Photographers

Launched November 7, 2012, KuteBox (booth 856) is the new standard in image storage - a company created by photographers and specifically tailored for photographers.

KuteBox is unique because it offers tailored storage solutions to fit clients' needs and monthly service options that support them. KuteBox techies help pick the right storage answer, then configure a solution and deliver it ready to go.

"Although there are several companies that offer the technology that photographers need in order to back up, store, and remotely access their images, there is no other company that offers customized solutions or service." Says Edward Bricker. "KuteBox doesn't just offer a device - it offers a solid, reliable solution for image storage, backup, and off site access. No other company offers this service."

About KuteBox

KuteBox is a tech company with a mission: make life easier, better, and more efficient for professional photographers. It accomplishes this by (a) selling the best hardware available, tailored to the needs of the client, and (b) offering affordable monthly support to maintain that hardware so that the client doesn't have to.

KuteBox is owned by two successful, boutique wedding photographers who over time developed a system that met their storage and IT needs. Other professional photographers took note, and liked the system so much that they wanted it too. Realizing that many photographers want help with image storage and IT needs but have nowhere to turn, KuteBox was born.

See them at Imaging USA in booth 856.
