Chris Fritchie’s passion for photography began over 20 years ago, when he first picked up a camera because he didn’t want to pay for images. What began as means to escape from a fortune 500 company (where the toll of managing 42 sales reps was causing a slow death) soon blossomed into an all-consuming passion for photography.
Ten years spent on editorial work resulted in over 125 magazine covers and thousands of published images, and in recent years, Chris has really taken things to the next level by embracing portrait work and diving deep into print competition.
He and his wife Lori have recently moved their studio, Chris Fritchie Studios, to the historic downtown of McKinney, TX. With the wild success of their “Magic of Santa” sessions, they opened a year-round Christmas store as a method to draw in walk-up traffic off the town square and introduce people to the Santa sessions and other portrait work. This marketing strategy has led to their largest year in bookings, and they’ve also been featured in three new stories on one of Dallas’ top news stations. The only thing holding the studio back is their own creativity!
